RECAP

In a tightly contested defensive battle, Gangsters Hockey Club leaned on their clinical finish and steady goaltending to edge out High Glass with a 2-1 victory. Despite High Glass controlling much of the pace in the closing minutes, they couldn't find a way to crack a disciplined Gangsters backcheck. The game remained a chess match through two periods, but the turning point was the Gangsters' ability to weather a late offensive surge from High Glass, who threw nearly everything at the net in a desperate attempt to force overtime. The night belonged to WhoUsedAlltheTP, who provided all the offense Gangsters Hockey Club needed with a 2-goal performance, including the game-winner. He was perfectly supported by xHoodler and Norris x 9, who both notched 2 assists and combined for a punishing 21 hits to keep the High Glass transition game from finding any rhythm. On the other side, l_Willis_97_l was the lone bright spot for High Glass, tallying their only goal and leading the team with 7 hits. Between the pipes, K33P x 27 was exceptional, posting a .958 save percentage by stopping 23 of 24 shots to secure the win. Ultimately, the deciding factor was quality over quantity. High Glass outshot Gangsters 23-18 and utilized heavy volume, particularly from JHubbs92 who registered 9 shots on his own, but they failed to convert on any of their power play opportunities. Gangsters Hockey Club played a much more physical brand of hockey, out-hitting High Glass 31-13, which disrupted High Glass's zone entries. By controlling the Time on Attack (537 to 488) and keeping the High Glass shooters to the perimeter, Gangsters managed to escape with the points despite the shot differential.
