RECAP

The Gooper Troopers narrowly escaped with a 4-3 victory in a contest that prioritized physical play and opportunistic finishing over sustained offensive pressure. Despite the Mighty Deks controlling the flow of the game for long stretches and finishing with nearly 2 minutes more time on attack (590 to 493), they were unable to secure the equalizer in the closing moments. The turning point came late in the game when RyGuyX9 found the back of the net for his second goal, moving the score to 4-2 and providing the cushion necessary to withstand a late Mighty Deks push. The offensive engines for the Troopers were Frishmania and Animal x86, who both recorded 1 goal and 2 assists. Frishmania was especially disruptive, complementing his 3 points with a game-high 9 hits to dictate the physical tempo. RyGuyX9 proved to be the clinical finisher the home side needed, converting 2 of his 3 shots into goals, including the eventual game-winner. On the other side, Chandler4911 was the standout performer for the Mighty Deks, posting 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and firing a game-high 7 shots in a losing effort. The deciding factor in this matchup was the Gooper Troopers' ability to stay disciplined and weather the storm. While the Mighty Deks held a 15-18 shot advantage and capitalized on their lone power play, the Troopers utilized a "bend but don't break" defensive strategy. They recorded 30 total hits to keep the Deks' playmakers on the perimeter and neutralized several high-danger chances. wolf master00 was reliable when it mattered most, finishing with 15 saves to outduel RedSkinStallion and secure the one-goal victory in a game where every inch of ice was contested.
