RECAP

The Strawberrys put on a masterclass in clinical finishing on Thursday night, dismantling Men In Black in a lopsided 8-1 victory. Despite the final score, the shot clock told a much different story, with Men In Black actually outshooting the victors 16-15. The narrative of the game, however, was defined by the Strawberrys’ ability to punish every single defensive lapse. While Men In Black struggled to find lanes, The Strawberrys moved the puck with intent, turning a competitive first half of play into a runaway rout by the final whistle. The offensive production was headlined by a trio of dominant performances. mashotpa was an absolute force, finding the back of the net 5 times and adding 2 assists for a 7-point night. He was often the beneficiary of elite playmaking from splxshin., who orchestrated the attack with 6 assists and a power-play goal. Not to be overlooked, Teoskiii centered the top line effectively, chipping in 2 goals and 4 assists while maintaining a +6 rating. On the back end, Hobo was a nightmare for the opposition’s transition game, recording 9 takeaways and 3 assists to ensure the puck stayed moving in the right direction. The deciding factor in this blowout was pure efficiency versus wasted possession. Men In Black struggled heavily with puck security, as iiNsAnE x w00dy and willisx97 combined for 33 turnovers. The Strawberrys feasted on these mistakes, converting on a staggering 53% of their shots. Discipline also played a major role; Men In Black spent 8 minutes in the penalty box, while The Strawberrys played a perfectly clean game with 0 penalty minutes. By combining a lethal power play with a transition game that capitalized on every giveaway, The Strawberrys turned a narrow shot advantage for the opposition into a definitive statement win.
