RECAP

The Baboons put on a clinical performance in their 6-2 victory over Evil Nature, effectively controlling the narrative from the opening draw. While Evil Nature managed to hang around early, the turning point was the sheer volume of pressure the Baboons applied, leading to a massive shot differential. The Baboons didn’t just win the scoreline; they dictated the pace of the entire contest, keeping the play pinned in the offensive zone for long stretches and forcing Evil Nature into a defensive shell they couldn't break out of. The offensive story of the night was l Volcom x 28 l, who put on a finishing clinic with 4 goals and 2 assists for a 6-point outing. He was fed consistently by Therealestbean, who orchestrated the attack with 3 assists and a goal of his own. Down the middle, Buckley0306 was the glue for the top line, recording 3 points and winning 10 of 18 faceoffs to ensure the Baboons started with the puck. On the back end, roboubi was an absolute disruptor, tallying 5 takeaways and 4 interceptions to shut down any transition attempts from Evil Nature before they could cross the blue line. The deciding factor in this game was possession and zone time. The Baboons nearly doubled Evil Nature's time on attack, logging 715 seconds compared to just 368. This massive gap in puck control translated directly to the shot clock, where the Baboons outshot their opponents 18-7. Evil Nature simply couldn't find a rhythm with such limited opportunities, and while Prodigyx8 was involved in both of their goals, the lack of sustained pressure meant they were playing on their heels for all 60 minutes. The Baboons' ability to combine high-volume shooting with efficient puck recovery made this a one-sided affair.
