RECAP

Good try put on a clinic in offensive efficiency, skating away with a dominant 6-1 victory over Team8s. From the opening puck drop, Good try established a heavy forecheck that kept the play pinned in the offensive zone for nearly 10 minutes of total attack time. The narrative of the game was set early as Team8s struggled to clear their zone, leading to a constant cycle of pressure. While Sejje managed to provide a brief spark for Team8s with a shorthanded goal, the momentum never truly shifted, as Good try responded immediately to snuff out any hope of a comeback. The victory was fueled by identical powerhouse performances from Perellzy and Licks-_-97, who both torched the scoresheet with 2 goals and 3 assists. Licks-_-97 was the engine of the offense, dominating the dot with 16 faceoff wins on 20 attempts, ensuring his wingers had puck fast and often. Perellzy capitalized on that service, finishing the night with a +5 rating and leading the team with 5 shots on goal. Between the pipes, gunnr miggs had a relatively quiet but steady night, turning aside 9 of 10 shots for a .900 save percentage, while Team8s' goalie CN65 was left exposed under a 22-shot barrage, despite making 15 saves. The deciding factor in this contest was a combination of faceoff dominance and puck security. Good try’s 80% win rate in the circle allowed them to dictate the flow of the game, resulting in a 22-10 shot differential. In contrast, Team8s were plagued by giveaways, with Jellyl35l and Sejje combining for 21 turnovers. This inability to transition cleanly through the neutral zone forced Team8s to play a defensive game they weren't prepared for, while Good try used their 140 pass attempts to pick apart the coverage and coast to a comfortable win.
