RECAP

Supremacy edged out The cozbys in a 7-5 shootout that favored clinical finishing over sustained pressure. Despite The cozbys controlling the flow for much of the night with 9:54 in time on attack compared to Supremacy's 8:14, they couldn't find an answer for Supremacy’s counter-punching style. The game remained a back-and-forth affair until the special teams' units took over, allowing Supremacy to build a lead that their efficiency in the offensive zone would not relinquish. The night belonged to foul, who put on a finishing clinic for Supremacy. He notched 4 goals and 2 assists, including the game-winning goal, finishing with a 10.0 performance rating. He was flanked by yRykerr and Kirkyy88, who both provided 4-point cushions to keep the pressure on. The cozbys saw a massive individual effort from Vibe, who was involved in every single one of his team's goals with 2 goals and 3 assists. Defensively, Windex was a standout for the home side, recorded 6 takeaways and a 95% pass completion rate, but it wasn't enough to stifle Supremacy's top-heavy scoring. The deciding factor in this contest was undisputed: special teams. Supremacy was lethal with the man advantage, converting on 3 separate power plays. While The cozbys led in shots (19-18) and puck possession, their 8 penalty minutes proved to be their undoing. Supremacy didn't need a high volume of chances because they made the ones they had count, evidenced by a significantly higher shooting percentage and a power play that operated at a high-end clip. That efficiency allowed them to overcome the possession deficit and secure the 7-5 win.
