RECAP

Good try put on a clinical display of efficiency in their 7-2 victory over Supremacy, proving that puck control doesn't always translate to the scoreboard. While Supremacy actually led in time on attack with 542 seconds compared to 506, they were unable to contain a lethal Good try transition game. The narrative of this matchup was written in the circles and the creases; despite Supremacy controlling the pace for long stretches, Good try capitalized on nearly every high-danger chance they generated, scoring 7 times on just 13 shots to put the game out of reach by the 3rd period. The offensive explosion was fueled by a masterclass performance from Cube, who dismantled the defense with 1 goal and 6 assists. His vision allowed Perellzy to find soft spots in the coverage, resulting in a 3-goal hat trick, while Licks-_-97 remained a constant threat with 2 goals and 3 assists of his own. On the other side of the red line, gunnr miggs provided the necessary stability in net, turning aside 9 of 11 shots for an .818 save percentage. This stood in stark contrast to Washedbob, who struggled between the pipes for Supremacy, finishing with a .462 save percentage after being left exposed by several defensive breakdowns. The deciding factor in this blowout was pure shooting efficiency. Good try finished the night with a staggering 53% shooting percentage, converting 7 of their 13 attempts into goals. Supremacy actually won the battle in the faceoff circle 14-10 and managed to find the net on the power play, but they simply couldn't match the finishing ability of the opposition. When one team scores on more than half of their shots while the other is held to 2 goals on 11 attempts, the possession metrics become a footnote. Good try’s ability to make their limited opportunities count turned what could have been a close game into a lopsided affair.
