SERIES RECAP

The Mighty Deks take the series 2-1 over the Muffin Men in a matchup defined by heavy offensive pressure and elite high-danger finishing. The series opened with the Deks making a massive statement in Game 1, riding a 5-goal performance from JNoQuarterJ to a 7-3 victory. The Muffin Men showed great resilience in Game 2, successfully slowing the tempo and stealing a 3-1 win on the back of a tugeye92 hat trick to force a deciding Game 3. However, momentum shifted back permanently in the finale as the Deks tightened their defensive structure and cruised to a 6-0 shutout to clinch the series. JNoQuarterJ was the offensive engine for the Mighty Deks, racking up 9 goals and 11 points over the 3 games, including a dominant 23 shots on net. He was perfectly complemented by EarlSWTSHLRT, who operated as a pure floor general, finishing the series with 9 assists and a notable 5-assist performance in the clincher. On the Muffin Men side, tugeye92 was the clear standout, accounting for 5 of the team's 6 total goals in the series. x Neal x 19 x did his best to keep them in it from the dot, winning 39 faceoffs and recording 4 assists, while Sweetdwilly21 faced a massive workload in net, totaling 47 saves across the 3 starts. The statistical story of this series was the massive disparity in zone time and shot volume. The Mighty Deks averaged over 10 minutes of time on attack per game and outshot the Muffin Men 64-31 overall. While the Muffin Men were efficient in their Game 2 victory, they were eventually buried by the Deks’ relentless possession game. Discipline was also a deciding factor; the Deks only gave up 2 power play goals the entire series and played a completely clean Game 3, which prevented the Muffin Men from ever establishing a rhythm in the final showdown.
