SERIES RECAP

The Baboons took the series 2-1 over VooDoo Child in a matchup defined by polar opposite philosophies. The series opened with a clinical 6-1 statement win by the Baboons, but VooDoo Child managed to stall that momentum in Game 2 with a gritty 4-2 victory to force a decider. The rubber match in Game 3 saw the Baboons return to form, weathering a massive possession disadvantage to secure a 5-2 win and the series title. While VooDoo Child often controlled the pace, the Baboons’ ability to convert on limited opportunities proved to be the recurring nightmare for their opponents. The offensive load for the Baboons was carried by the duo of Buckley0306 and Bills 39, who functioned as a two-headed monster throughout the three games. Buckley0306 was the primary engine, racking up 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) over the series, while Bills 39 provided the finishing touch with 8 points, including two separate hat tricks in Game 1 and Game 3. VooDoo Child was led by Dupont l9l, who remained a constant threat with 7 points and a series-high 32 faceoff wins. Notably, Hylightt played a hybrid role for VooDoo, struggling in net for two games but putting up a massive 4-point performance and a hat trick as a skater during their lone Game 2 victory. The deciding factor in this series was pure efficiency versus wasted possession. VooDoo Child dominated the time on attack in the final game (644 seconds to 388), but they were undone by 12 team penalties and 111 total turnovers across the series—21 of which came from I3rooxy in the deciding game alone. The Baboons’ special teams were lethal when it mattered most, going 2 for 2 on the power play in Game 3 to put the series out of reach. While VooDoo Child won the possession and faceoff battles, the Baboons’ transition game and superior finishing on 54 total shots compared to VooDoo’s 38 tells the story of a team that simply knew how to make their shots count.
