SERIES RECAP

The Flamingos secured a narrow 2-1 series victory over The Strawberrys in a matchup defined by extreme contrasts in playstyle. The series opened with the Flamingos pulling off a 3-2 win in Game 1 despite losing the possession battle, setting a narrative that would persist throughout the week. The Strawberrys managed to even the score with a disciplined 2-1 victory in Game 2, but the Flamingos regained their clinical form in the Game 3 finale. In that deciding contest, the Flamingos were out-possessed 822 to 290 in time on attack but capitalized on nearly every mistake to walk away with a 4-3 win and the series trophy. The statistical stars for the Flamingos were Swizz wrld and Chandler4911, who both finished the series with 6 points. Swizz wrld was particularly dominant in the series clincher, recording a hat trick and a massive 21 hits to disrupt the Strawberrys’ transition game. Chandler4911 proved to be the ultimate setup man, finishing with 4 assists and the eventual series-winning goal in Game 3. For The Strawberrys, splxshin. was a force in the circle and on the scoresheet, totaling 6 points and winning 17 draws in the final game. Mashotpa also provided consistent offense with 3 goals across the series, though high turnover numbers in crucial moments hampered their comeback efforts. The deciding factor in this series was pure clinical efficiency versus sustained pressure. The Strawberrys controlled the puck for the vast majority of the series, often doubling or tripling the Flamingos' time on attack, but they struggled to beat SmokeGrenadiers6, who remained composed in the Flamingos' crease with 31 total saves. While The Strawberrys relied on puck movement and cycle play, the Flamingos leaned into a heavy physical game, led by Swizz wrld’s 48 total hits. This physicality forced 118 total turnovers from The Strawberrys over 3 games, allowing the Flamingos to thrive on the counter-attack and win the series despite a significant deficit in shots and possession.
