SERIES RECAP

Degeneration X takes the series 2-1 over Half Shell Cartel in a matchup defined by razor-thin margins. Every single contest was decided by exactly 1 goal, starting with a 3-2 overtime thriller where the Cartel used heavy zone pressure to strike first. Degeneration X refused to blink, stealing Game 2 with a 2-1 result despite being heavily outshot, before closing out the series with a 3-2 victory in the finale. bobaloooo_ was the offensive engine for DX, producing 7 points across the 3 games and delivering a clutch hat trick in the Game 3 clincher. He was flanked by the playmaking of m4ckzz88, who tallied 3 assists in the final game to help secure the comeback. For Half Shell Cartel, mashotpa was a standout performer, leading his team with 6 points and winning 38 faceoffs to provide a constant possession advantage. I3rooxy also played a massive role for the Cartel, recording 5 points and a series-high 19 hits to set a physical tone. The deciding factor in this series was finishing efficiency versus shot volume. Half Shell Cartel controlled the pace of play and outshot DX 55-38 over the 3 games, but they struggled to solve xRoamingxRoninx in the high-danger areas. The DX netminder was the series MVP, posting 49 saves and holding the line during a Game 2 performance where his team was outshot 19-9. While the Cartel won the Time on Attack battle in every game, Degeneration X’s ability to capitalize on limited counter-attack opportunities and superior goaltending proved to be the winning formula.
