SERIES RECAP

The series between the Mighty Deks and Half Shell Cartel ended in a 1-1 split, with both teams showcasing completely different paths to victory. The Deks took the opening game in dominant fashion, riding a 4-1 win fueled by heavy possession and a clinical power play. Half Shell Cartel looked overmatched early on, but they completely flipped the script in the second game. By tightening up their defensive zone and finding clinical finishing, the Cartel secured a 3-1 win to even the series and stall the Deks' momentum. Offensively, the Mighty Deks relied on the duo of chri5izclutch and BIGTJ1299, who both finished the two-game set with 4 points. Chri5izclutch was a force in the middle, netting 3 goals across the series, while BIGTJ1299 acted as the primary distributor with 3 assists. For Half Shell Cartel, Korbo5379 emerged as the hero of the comeback, leading his team with 3 points, including 2 crucial goals in the second game. The most notable individual performance, however, was the resilience of CN65 in net; after a difficult Game 1, he stood tall in the finale, posting a .923 save percentage to keep the Deks' shooters at bay. The series was ultimately a battle between volume and efficiency. The Mighty Deks dominated the puck, recording a staggering 1314 total seconds of time on attack compared to the Cartel’s 477. While this possession led to a 2-for-2 power play performance in the first game, the Deks struggled to convert that pressure into goals as the series progressed. Half Shell Cartel’s ability to weather the storm was the deciding factor; despite being outshot and out-possessed, they capitalized on their high-danger chances in Game 2 and utilized 11 interceptions from TheHeroicShinobi and Habsyyy11 to disrupt the Deks' cycle and secure the split.
