RECAP

The Muffin Men secured a hard-fought 5-3 victory over High Glass in a matchup where offensive efficiency eventually wore down a physical defensive effort. While time on attack was nearly identical (493 to 482), the Muffin Men were far more surgical with their entries, doubling High Glass in shots and forcing Il Eroc lI to face high-quality looks all night. High Glass managed to hang around thanks to a physical presence led by Hoots l16l, but a lack of discipline eventually opened the door. The turning point came on the man advantage, where the Muffin Men capitalized to build a lead that High Glass simply didn’t have the shot volume to overcome. The story of the night was the dominant performance of tugeye92, who spearheaded the Muffin Men’s attack with a hat trick and added 2 assists for a 5-point night. He was elusive all evening, drawing 3 penalties as the High Glass defense struggled to contain him. On the other side, l_Willis_97_l did his best to keep High Glass in the hunt, netting 2 goals and an assist on only 4 shots. High Glass also received a massive defensive effort from Hoots l16l, who stood out with a game-high 12 hits, effectively turning the defensive zone into a gauntlet, though his 4 penalty minutes proved costly. Ultimately, the disparity in volume and discipline decided this one. The Muffin Men fired 24 shots compared to just 12 from High Glass, putting immense pressure on the goaltender and creating second-chance opportunities. High Glass handed out 4 power play opportunities while only drawing 1 themselves, a critical mistake against a lineup with this much finishing talent. Despite Sweetdwilly21 only needing to make 9 saves, the Muffin Men's ability to control the shot clock and maximize their special teams' looks earned them the two points.
