RECAP

In a high-octane track meet that saw defense take a backseat to pure skill, The Strawberrys narrowly outlasted Anarchy in an 8-7 shootout. Despite Anarchy’s relentless physical pressure, The Strawberrys dictated the pace for much of the night, nearly doubling Anarchy’s time on attack with 10:00 compared to 5:30. The game was a constant back-and-forth affair, but The Strawberrys' ability to maintain prolonged offensive zone pressure eventually wore down the Anarchy backend, providing just enough cushion to survive a late-game push. The offensive stars were out in full force, led by a massive 6-point performance from Teoskiii, who netted a hat trick and added 3 assists while winning 18 faceoffs. He was flanked by mashotpa, who recorded a hat trick of his own and 5 total points. On the other side, Anarchy stayed in the hunt through a gritty performance by PunchmadeFinn, who tallied 2 goals and 3 assists while leading the defensive corps with 11 hits. Hawk x I22I was a literal wrecking ball for Anarchy, racking up a staggering 20 hits and 5 points, keeping the game competitive by punishing The Strawberrys every time they entered the zone. The deciding factor in this 1-goal game was undoubtedly special teams and discipline. Anarchy struggled with their composure, handing The Strawberrys 4 power play opportunities, and The Strawberrys made them pay by converting on 3 of them. While Anarchy was more efficient on a per-shot basis, their 8 penalty minutes proved too costly. Combined with Teoskiii’s 62% success rate at the faceoff dot, The Strawberrys simply had too much puck possession and too many man-advantage opportunities for Anarchy to overcome.
