RECAP

The Strawberrys put on a clinic in clinical finishing, taking down Anarchy with a 5-1 victory. Despite the shot totals being nearly identical—12 for Anarchy and 11 for The Strawberrys—the narrative of the game was defined by high-quality execution versus missed opportunities. The Strawberrys established a rhythm early, using a significant advantage in time on attack (620 seconds to 468) to wear down the Anarchy defense. While Anarchy attempted to bridge the gap with a hyper-physical approach, they couldn't overcome the deficit once The Strawberrys' top line began to click in the offensive zone. The offensive explosion was led by mashotpa, who turned in a massive performance with 3 goals and 1 assist. He was fed all night by splxshin., who served as the primary engine of the offense with 1 goal and 3 assists while dominating the dot with a 66.7% faceoff win rate. On the other side of the ice, FatalX87 was incredibly reliable between the pipes, turning away 11 of 12 shots for a .917 save percentage. Anarchy’s lone bright spot was the gritty play of Hawk x I22I, who managed to score their only goal and recorded a staggering 18 hits, but his efforts weren't enough to spark a full comeback against a locked-in Strawberrys squad. The game was ultimately decided by efficiency and puck security. The Strawberrys moved the puck with much more purpose, attempting 128 passes to Anarchy's 94, which allowed them to dictate the pace. Anarchy struggled to maintain clean possession, with PunchmadeFinn and Hawk x I22I combining for 23 turnovers, often leading to quick transition opportunities for their opponents. While Washedbob struggled in net for Anarchy with a .545 save percentage, the lack of support from a defensive unit that gave up too many high-danger looks made the night nearly impossible for the visitors.
