RECAP

In a tightly contested battle that required extra time to settle, the Harfangs edged out the Baboons 4-3 in overtime. The narrative of the game was a classic clash between clinical finishing and sustained pressure. While the Baboons relied heavily on a singular offensive powerhouse to stay in the hunt, the Harfangs utilized a more balanced attack and significant time on attack to wear down the opposition. The game reached its climax in the overtime period, where the Harfangs finally capitalized on their territorial dominance to secure the victory. The individual performances in this matchup were nothing short of elite. Duchesne_x_10 was the undisputed catalyst for the Harfangs, involved in every single goal his team scored; he finished with 2 goals and 2 assists, including the decisive game-winner in overtime. He wasn't just a threat on the scoreboard, either, racking up 18 hits in a high-intensity performance. On the other side, l Volcom x 28 l put the Baboons on his back, netting a hat trick on 11 shots to account for all of his team’s scoring. On the blue line, TwO AcCuRaTE was vital for the Harfangs, recording 9 takeaways and scoring the game’s only power play goal to supplement his 2-point night. The deciding factor in this contest was the Harfangs' ability to dictate the pace and capitalize on their limited special teams opportunities. They controlled the zone for long stretches, leading the time on attack 11:30 to 8:33, which eventually took its toll on the Baboons' defensive rotation. While the Baboons held the advantage in the faceoff circle (18-14), they struggled to turn those possessions into sustained pressure. Ultimately, the Harfangs' 1/1 efficiency on the power play and their 22-17 shot advantage proved to be the difference in a game where the margins were razor-thin.
