RECAP

The Mighty Deks pulled off a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against Supremacy in a contest that was defined by a total lack of separation between the two sides. Statistically, the game was a mirror image, with both teams recording exactly 15 shots and splitting faceoffs right down the middle at 50%. It was a back-and-forth battle where neither squad could find a sustained rhythm, eventually leading to a tense extra frame. The deadlock was finally broken in overtime when the Deks' top line found a seam in the Supremacy coverage to bury the winner and escape with the two points. Chandler4911 was the undisputed engine for the Mighty Deks, having a hand in every single goal his team scored. He finished the night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists), including the clutch overtime winner. He was supported by a strong defensive showing from IAALLDAY520, who chipped in a goal and led all players with 8 takeaways. On the other side, yRykerr did his best to carry the load for Supremacy, netting 2 goals and an assist. While both goaltenders were tested equally with 15 shots, Bcrippsx31 came up with 12 saves to outduel Washedbob, who finished with 11 stops for a .733 save percentage. The deciding factor in this one was the Deks' ability to capitalize on defensive transitions despite Supremacy holding a slight edge in time on attack (687 to 646). While Supremacy spent more time with the puck, the Deks were more disruptive, led by Rapidcalf217667’s 5 interceptions and IAALLDAY520’s heavy defensive presence. With both power plays going 0 for the night, the game was decided entirely at even strength. Ultimately, the Deks' efficiency proved superior; they forced 21 turnovers and converted their limited chances at a slightly higher rate than a Supremacy squad that struggled to turn possession into goals.
