SERIES RECAP

Metal Can Muppets take the series 2-0 over Mighty Deks in a matchup defined by clinical efficiency versus sustained pressure. While the scoreline shows a sweep, the series was incredibly tight, punctuated by a 4-2 win in the opener and a 5-4 overtime thriller to close it out. Mighty Deks controlled the flow of play for the vast majority of both games, but the Muppets proved to be the masters of the counter-attack, weathering heavy cycles and striking quickly on the break. The offensive engine for the Muppets was xDemon12x, who put up a massive 8 points (5 goals, 3 assists) across the two games, including the clutch overtime winner in Game 2. He was flanked by BIGTJ1299, who averaged 3 points per game and served as the primary distributor on the rush. For the Mighty Deks, hockeymike2344 was a persistent threat, netting 4 goals in the series, including a clinical hat trick in the Game 2 loss. mashotpa also chipped in 5 points, though his impact was occasionally dampened by high turnover numbers under pressure. The ultimate decider in this series was the disparity between puck possession and finishing ability. Mighty Deks held a significant advantage in time on attack, totaling 23:45 of zone time compared to just 16:04 for the Muppets. However, the Muppets were lethal with their limited chances, shooting 28% as a team. While the Deks' power play was effective, going 2-for-5 across the series, they were plagued by 28 turnovers from their primary puck handlers. Philliesgreat08 provided the necessary stability in net for the Muppets, making 29 saves and out-dueling the Deks' backstop to ensure their narrow leads held up.
