SERIES RECAP

Supremacy secures a 2-0 series sweep over the Metal Can Muppets, though the final scores don't fully reflect how much pressure they weathered. Game 1 was a tactical 4-2 battle where Supremacy relied on transition strikes to break a late deadlock. Game 2 saw the Muppets ramp up their aggression, dominating time on attack 652-432 and outshooting Supremacy 22-12, but Supremacy remained incredibly clinical, turning a massive shot deficit into a 6-3 series-clinching victory. The series was defined by the high-end finishing of Supremacy’s top line. hockeymike2344 was the engine of the offense, racking up 7 points (3G, 4A) across the two games and netting both game-winning goals. On his wing, yRykerr provided the finishing touch with 5 goals, including a massive hat trick in Game 2 to slam the door on a potential comeback. Between the pipes, swatman27 was the unsung hero, making 29 saves over the series and notably stopping a crucial penalty shot in Game 1 that preserved Supremacy’s momentum. The Muppets were led by Binzet37, who finished with 4 points and controlled the faceoff dot in Game 2 with an 82% win rate. Ultimately, efficiency vs. volume decided this matchup. The Muppets held a significant possession advantage throughout the series (1169 total TOA to Supremacy’s 934) and outshot their opponents 35-26 overall, but they couldn't convert that zone time into high-quality goals. Turnovers were the primary culprit for the Muppets, particularly from yung96 who, despite his 3 points and high possession, recorded 39 turnovers across the two games. Supremacy’s ability to survive long defensive shifts and capitalize on nearly 40% of their shots in Game 2 proved to be the difference between a sweep and a long series.
